You know it’s coming. There has been plenty of ‘spy-shots’ of the new model 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander due later next year, but this is the first ‘official’ pic released by Mitsubishi Motors. Expect to see the new model in the flesh after the online reveal in February. December 11, 2020
10 November 2020: Mitsubishi Motors today announced pricing and specifications of the new-look and better-handling Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. While a very competant car inside and on the road, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross was, at least from my viewpoint, a bit on the forgetable side from the rear. Seems that the
Ok, it’s time for all the other utes on the Australian market to take some lumps. ANCAP has just announced the awarding of a 5-Star rating for Australia’s newest ute, the Isuzu D-Max. (And yes, LDV T60 has a five-star rating, but that vehicle was tested against 2017 criteria and
Here at the bottom of the world, Australia, we miss out on some of the better new cars that are available in other countries. Why? Like the new Jeep models announced yesterday, the rest of the world, apart from South Africa, Australiasia, and some other small nations, all have Left
I’ve just driven my first Haval H9 Ultra 4WD, but only for a short lap of the Redcliffe Peninsula. But you only get 1 chance to create a first impression and here’s mine. I was asked by David from Coorparoo to source a Haval H9 for his family through Car
It’s finally here in Australia and Matt Raudonikis from 4×4 Australia got to drive it – Jeep JT Gladiator As a Jeep dealer from 2003 to 2015, I have a certain passion for the brand. I’m not an off-roader as such, but a lot of my customers bought Jeep for
Thought that someone would like to know I spoke to a number of Ford Dealers in Melbourne last week (17/6/2020) trying to obtain a quote on a new Ford Ranger for a Gold Card TPI customer. I’m a new car broker based in Queensland, but looking after customers in New

Arguably the most anticipated launch this year is the all-new Mazda BT-50. Designed in concert with Isuzu and built in Thailand, Mazda owners will gravitate to the brand rather than any other. Mazda’s sense of customer responsiveness will be enhanced by the reputation of the bones of this new ute.

I know that there’s a lot of websites that offer car reviews, car road tests, opinions on various cars and the like. What makes this site different is that I’m not going to bore you with technical information about the various cars that I review.
I’ve been in the car business for over 39 years. I’ve read the motoring magazines cover to cover. I’ve read the online reviews until my eyes were square. Everywhere that I go, I find motoring journalists talking about car speeds – 0 – 100 km per hour, standing ¼ times, the inclination of this and that at 150klm per hour on a 12.5% gradient curve, in rainy weather – and other stuff that bores me no end.
thecarguy.com.au is taking a different path on the journey to helping you purchase a new car. I’ll do my best to advise you on what I consider to be the most important information when it comes to that major decision to purchase a car. Interior room, features of the car, fuel economy, safety, service prices, resale and lots more. I’ll tell you what I like about a particular car and as importantly, what I don’t like, to find at least to be less than I think a car should have. .
And I’ll ask for your opinion. Take some pics of what you’re driving and tell me and our audience what you particularly like or dislike about your car. Because besides prospective new car buyers, there’s a lot of people who’ll read your comments as used car buyers.
So, jump on board, strap yourself in and let’s start out on the journey with The Car Guy.
