Jeep Australia has released the MY20 Jeep Compass line-up with a massive ‘mea culpa’ marketing campaign on their brand. Jeeps reputation was severly damaged back in the middle of the decade, where their customer satisfaction was at an industry low. Only time will tell whether they can resuscitate that reputation,
This rollover video shows why the Jeep Wrangler gets a marginal IIHS Rating. Despite ‘good’ ratings for driver safety, multiple rollovers earn the Jeep a ‘marginal’ overall IIHS rating Thanks to Autoweek for this story and particularly Graham Kozak When this new model Jeep Wrangler was first tested in Europe
One of my favourite brands, Kia, has released details of their redesigned and refreshed upcoming large SUV, Kia Sorento. Rather than rewrite the press release, below is the information directly from the launch of the Kia Sorento in Frankfurt, Germany (FRANKFURT) March 18, 2020 – The new Kia Sorento is revealed for
Just two years from launch, the Grim Reaper has swung the scythe. Mercedes-Benz has announced the untimely death of the X-Class. Based on the successful Nissan Navara, Mercedes would have undoubtedly thought they had a winner with the X-Class. After all, they had a good deal price-wise with Nissan. But,
Greetings from Bob Aldons, The Car Guy with another First Look. I’m always trawling the internet looking for vehicles that will arrive in Australia. G’day. Bob Aldons, The Car Guy, with a couple of thoughts on the 2020 Jeep Gladiator. It was 10 years ago, that the late Sergio Marchionne told the assembled throng in Florida that the world would be getting a Jeep Ute before too long. He even showed us one on
Australian Outback via Jeep: Retracing the Long Trail of History, 50 Years On The BFGoodrich 50th Anniversary East-West Australia Jeep Expedition follows in the footsteps—and 4×4 tracks—of overlanding giants. Isuzu D-Max may be one of the last to the party, but the 2020 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is one stonking looking truck. Upgraded to 140Kw of power, the most reliable four-door ute on the market in Australia is due in early 2020, but don’t ask Isuzu Ute Australia for information-
The 2020 Nissan Patrol Ti-L has recently launched and believe you me, it’s a whole lot of luxury truck for nearly $32,000 less than a Toyota Landcruiser Sahara. When I was a Toyota and Ford dealer, back when there were almost NO high rises in Redcliffe, no-one really liked the
Suzuki Vitara GLX Turbo – A small SUV with a big reputation My wife Suzi is a Suzuki fan – she first started driving the brand in 2004 and had one of the first Suzuki Swifts to hit the road. Her last one, for the time being, was a
I know that there’s a lot of websites that offer car reviews, car road tests, opinions on various cars and the like. What makes this site different is that I’m not going to bore you with technical information about the various cars that I review.
I’ve been in the car business for over 39 years. I’ve read the motoring magazines cover to cover. I’ve read the online reviews until my eyes were square. Everywhere that I go, I find motoring journalists talking about car speeds – 0 – 100 km per hour, standing ¼ times, the inclination of this and that at 150klm per hour on a 12.5% gradient curve, in rainy weather – and other stuff that bores me no end.
thecarguy.com.au is taking a different path on the journey to helping you purchase a new car. I’ll do my best to advise you on what I consider to be the most important information when it comes to that major decision to purchase a car. Interior room, features of the car, fuel economy, safety, service prices, resale and lots more. I’ll tell you what I like about a particular car and as importantly, what I don’t like, to find at least to be less than I think a car should have. .
And I’ll ask for your opinion. Take some pics of what you’re driving and tell me and our audience what you particularly like or dislike about your car. Because besides prospective new car buyers, there’s a lot of people who’ll read your comments as used car buyers.
So, jump on board, strap yourself in and let’s start out on the journey with The Car Guy.
