Bob Aldons is The Car Guy

The Car Guy came about when I was asked my opinion of some varied new car brands.

As CEO and Founder of Car Business, I wanted to be able, not only to save my customers a lot of money, but to advise them on the particular brand they wanted with some knowledge.
Were there alternatives or more practical vehicles than the one they were thinking of? The answer was The Car Guy.
I originally approached a former colleague in 2016, Karla Leach, who was then the General Communications Manager for Mazda Australia. (She now heads the PR team at Nissan Australia)
Karla welcomed me to their list of accredited journalists and suggested a few more for me to contact – thanks mate.
I now review for:
  • Mazda
  • Nissan
  • Mitsubishi
  • Suzuki
  • Kia
  • Subaru
  • Haval
And via some friendly dealers for
  • Honda
  • Ford
  • Jeep
  • Fiat
  • Chrysler
  • Volkswagen
  • Great Wall
Typically reviews from the online and magazine based journalists are all about handling, power, torque and so on. I want to talk about the features, fuel economy, safety, warranty, service cost as well as insurance costs and more of that ilk.
I review a car as I would have presented one to a customer as a salesperson. The process I use is similar to the walk-around process that’s used in new car dealerships currently.
We start at the bonnet, dive into the engine bay, look down the passenger side and discuss safety equipment, look at the back and the boot, down the driver’s side at the design of the car and finally in the driver’s seat.
And lastly I look at the driveability aspect of the car.
I think the way that I provide my opinion on a particular brand and model gives my readers a particularly good look at the features that are important to them.
At the end of each review, I list questions that I’m frequently asked by customers.
Google calls them ‘People Also Ask’ while you may know them as Frequently Asked Questions.
It covers a lot of aspects of the car business, including use of non-genuine parts, how to buy accessories cheaper, window tinting special prices, where you should have your car serviced and a lot more.
