Even real car companies need a breather now and then, and then there’s Tesla. Bloomberg has just published this article on the history-making achievement by Tesla – read more at BLOOMBERG “After working around the clock for weeks on end to surpass a production goal, Tesla Inc. is pausing some Model 3 production this
On June 1st Ford Australia announced the introduction of a 5 Year Warranty and now it’s Holden’s turn. Good on you both. It’s time that consumers had this better warranty. The Car Business demands it. If my memory is clear that now only leaves, Toyota, Subaru, Volkswagen, Nissan and Mazda as the last major players in the Australian car business with a 3-year warranty. These stop outs need to have a long hard look at themselves – the new car warranty has moved on – 5-year warranty is the norm with Kia still the front-runner with 7 years.
Hi, Bob Aldons, The Car Guy, bringing you some humorous but important information about Audi. Back in 200? Audi of America produced a television commercial which at the time gained plaudits from the industry, ad agencies and the population at large. There’s no doubt that Superbowl ads are arguably the most expensive

Hi, Bob Aldons, The Car Guy, re-posting a story from Jeremey Clarkson. From The Australian last Saturday, Clarkson wails about the Ferrari 812 Superfast. I like the way Clarkson writes. He’s humorous, factual and a lucky bastard for getting the chance to drive the worlds most exclusive cars. Here’s what
Mazda’s 2.5-liter turbo engine gives its sedan 310 lb-ft of torque to play with, plus an elegant interior restyle My colleagues from US publication Autoweek are generally amongst the first car business publication in the world to view, review and test drive new vehicles from around the world. Lucky
Hi, Bob Aldons, The Car Guy with a quick story on the latest information coming from the Brabham team regarding the Brabham BT62. Unofficially, the lap record at Phillip Island is in new hands. Hello and welcome to my new website thecarguy.com.au!
I know that there’s a lot of websites that offer car reviews, car road tests, opinions on various cars and the like. What makes this site different is that I’m not going to bore you with technical information about the various cars that I review.
I’ve been in the car business for over 39 years. I’ve read the motoring magazines cover to cover. I’ve read the online reviews until my eyes were square. Everywhere that I go, I find motoring journalists talking about car speeds – 0 – 100 km per hour, standing ¼ times, the inclination of this and that at 150klm per hour on a 12.5% gradient curve, in rainy weather – and other stuff that bores me no end.
thecarguy.com.au is taking a different path on the journey to helping you purchase a new car. I’ll do my best to advise you on what I consider to be the most important information when it comes to that major decision to purchase a car. Interior room, features of the car, fuel economy, safety, service prices, resale and lots more. I’ll tell you what I like about a particular car and as importantly, what I don’t like, to find at least to be less than I think a car should have. .
And I’ll ask for your opinion. Take some pics of what you’re driving and tell me and our audience what you particularly like or dislike about your car. Because besides prospective new car buyers, there’s a lot of people who’ll read your comments as used car buyers.
So, jump on board, strap yourself in and let’s start out on the journey with The Car Guy.
