Suzuki Vitara GLX Turbo – A small SUV with a big reputation My wife Suzi is a Suzuki fan – she first started driving the brand in 2004 and had one of the first Suzuki Swifts to hit the road. Her last one, for the time being, was a
Any car company that has a 10 month + waiting time for their product can be lauded or criticised. I’ve driven Suzuki Jimny and I think that it should be held up as an example of a price-conscious, do what it says, motor vehicle. Sure it doesn’t have battery power,
When a particular model in a brand’s range hasn’t been available for a while, you can expect that it will be difficult to get one let alone at a good price. So it is with the new Suzuki Jimny. My local Suzuki dealer just this morning (21/3/19) told me that
Konnichiwa, Bob Aldons, The Car Guy, with a press release from Suzuki Auto Co in Brisbane. Most economical small car to own and operate – Suzuki Swift of courseI’ve been a Suzuki advocate since taking on the Suzuki franchise way back in August 2000. Back then my business partner and I acquired Redcliffe Mitsubishi and Suzuki at Redcliffe from long-term owners Alistair Stewart and Roy Elkington. The Mitsubishi part of the transaction was pretty easy to justify, Suzuki not so much.
Suzuki Swift Sports Turbo might not be a ‘hot’ hatch, but it’s certainly on the ‘hot’ side of ‘warm’. Hi, Bob Aldons, “The Car Guy”, presenting for your edification, my thoughts on the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sports Turbo. First impressions of anything are always important. Back in 2008, when I
Hi, Bob Aldons, The Car Guy, reporting in on my review of the Suzuki Swift GLX. I was a Suzuki dealer in 2004 when Suzuki first released the then all new Swift. A few dealers and I went to Japan to see the manufacturing plant where Swift was built. Swift
Suzuki S-Cross SX4 Turbo – Road Test and Review Hi, Bob Aldons, The Car Guy, with my first impressions on the Suzuki S-Cross SX4 Turbo SUV. When I first jumped in the driver’s seat, I’m wondering whether it’s just a scaled-down version of the Suzuki Vitara – the one that
When I reviewed the Suzuki Ignis a few weeks ago, I commented that it was just a great little car. Seems that the judges of the World Car Of the Year (WCOTY) panel read what I was saying. Ignis has taken out the silver medal for 2017 only pipped by
The Biggest Loser – Media reports leaking out about the new model Suzuki Swift Sport reveals that it will drop almost 20% on the old model’s body weight. The previous model weighed around 1045kg with the new spec at 870kg. Coupled to a 1.4L Boosterjet turbo engine, it’s alleged to
I first became really aware of Suzuki in 2000, when my business partner and I purchased Redcliffe and Suzuki. Beforehand, the name Suzuki was known to me as a motorcycle brand and some light off road vehicles rather than a manufacturer of light passenger vehicles. I sold my interest in
Hello and welcome to my new website thecarguy.com.au!
I know that there’s a lot of websites that offer car reviews, car road tests, opinions on various cars and the like. What makes this site different is that I’m not going to bore you with technical information about the various cars that I review.
I’ve been in the car business for over 39 years. I’ve read the motoring magazines cover to cover. I’ve read the online reviews until my eyes were square. Everywhere that I go, I find motoring journalists talking about car speeds – 0 – 100 km per hour, standing ¼ times, the inclination of this and that at 150klm per hour on a 12.5% gradient curve, in rainy weather – and other stuff that bores me no end.
thecarguy.com.au is taking a different path on the journey to helping you purchase a new car. I’ll do my best to advise you on what I consider to be the most important information when it comes to that major decision to purchase a car. Interior room, features of the car, fuel economy, safety, service prices, resale and lots more. I’ll tell you what I like about a particular car and as importantly, what I don’t like, to find at least to be less than I think a car should have. .
And I’ll ask for your opinion. Take some pics of what you’re driving and tell me and our audience what you particularly like or dislike about your car. Because besides prospective new car buyers, there’s a lot of people who’ll read your comments as used car buyers.
So, jump on board, strap yourself in and let’s start out on the journey with The Car Guy.
