G’day. Bob Aldons, The Car Guy, with a couple of thoughts on the 2020 Jeep Gladiator. It was 10 years ago, that the late Sergio Marchionne told the assembled throng in Florida that the world would be getting a Jeep Ute before too long. He even showed us one on
Australian Outback via Jeep: Retracing the Long Trail of History, 50 Years On The BFGoodrich 50th Anniversary East-West Australia Jeep Expedition follows in the footsteps—and 4×4 tracks—of overlanding giants. Thanks to Autoweek.com, I’m reposting an article published recently on the 50th anniversary of the crossing of Australia from east to
Hi, Bob Aldons, The Car Guy with the Throttle House review on the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Back in the day when this shape Jeep Grand Cherokee was released onto the Australian market, I drove one as my private car. Initially, I chose a 5.7 Litre Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited
There’s no doubt that the new front of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee was one that its mother could love – and when I say mother, I mean the design team and the folks who signed off on it. I remember Mike Manley’s comments that the new design would provide the
Hello, Bob Aldons, The Car Guy with a follow up from my previous post on the 2018 JL Jeep Wrangler. As I mentioned, some international journalists were flown to New Zealand to be the first to test drive and write on the JL Jeep Wrangler. Can you imagine a better
Jeep Wrangler gets more engine options and off-road capability than ever before — and it should be nicer on-road to boot I’m a Wrangler fan. Since 2003 when I took on the Chrysler Jeep franchise here in Redcliffe, through Northstar Motor Group, there’s never been a vehicle to compare. And
The JL Jeep Wrangler has three engine options and a new Selec-Trac 4WD system JL Jeep Wrangler Forums from the USA always seems to have the information that Jeep aficionados want way earlier than the ‘normal’ consumers can obtain. Apparently leaked directly from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is the specification sheets
3rd May 2017 – Update Given the significant numbers of people who have viewed this story, particularly on LinkedIn, I think it’s appropriate to update you all on the progress. On May 2nd, I finally found someone within Fiat Chrysler Australia who would listen carefully and actually follow up the
There’s been spy-shots of the exterior, rumors of new engines and transmissions, but if these renderings are any guide, “Jeepsters” should exhale slowly and consider that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler is still a Jeep. In these pics provided by JL Jeep Wrangler Forum, we see the redesigned Jeep Wrangler in
Hello and welcome to my new website thecarguy.com.au!
I know that there’s a lot of websites that offer car reviews, car road tests, opinions on various cars and the like. What makes this site different is that I’m not going to bore you with technical information about the various cars that I review.
I’ve been in the car business for over 39 years. I’ve read the motoring magazines cover to cover. I’ve read the online reviews until my eyes were square. Everywhere that I go, I find motoring journalists talking about car speeds – 0 – 100 km per hour, standing ¼ times, the inclination of this and that at 150klm per hour on a 12.5% gradient curve, in rainy weather – and other stuff that bores me no end.
thecarguy.com.au is taking a different path on the journey to helping you purchase a new car. I’ll do my best to advise you on what I consider to be the most important information when it comes to that major decision to purchase a car. Interior room, features of the car, fuel economy, safety, service prices, resale and lots more. I’ll tell you what I like about a particular car and as importantly, what I don’t like, to find at least to be less than I think a car should have. .
And I’ll ask for your opinion. Take some pics of what you’re driving and tell me and our audience what you particularly like or dislike about your car. Because besides prospective new car buyers, there’s a lot of people who’ll read your comments as used car buyers.
So, jump on board, strap yourself in and let’s start out on the journey with The Car Guy.
