Mazda Australia confirms MX-30 mild hybrid and electric models for 2021 arrival Don’t be confused. We currently have a MX-5, CX-30 and CX-5 and many other nomenclatures besides. And now Mazda are introducing (in 2021) an all new design, the Mazda MX-30. I’m a big fan of the Mazda brand.
I haven’t been an Electric or Hybrid advocate. Over the last 6 months or so, I’ve had the opportunity to test a few and I’m slowly coming around. This car, the Hyundai Ioniq Electric is another level. There’s no doubt that electric vehicles are starting to create waves. Elon Musk’s
What a chaotic race – 2 red flags ‘return to pit lane’ in 1 race with the winner not really determined until after the second red flag. And the damage to the Formula 1 cars that didn’t finish the race will run into millions in repairs. The 2020 Tuscan Grand
I’ve just driven my first Haval H9 Ultra 4WD, but only for a short lap of the Redcliffe Peninsula. But you only get 1 chance to create a first impression and here’s mine. I was asked by David from Coorparoo to source a Haval H9 for his family through Car
Hyundai i30N – Their first performance car, and they’ve nailed it. Affordable and fun to drive Before waxing lyrical about my time in the Hyundai i30 N Fastback, I just want to thank the COO of Hyundai, John Kett, for the opportunity to test drive the Hyundai range. I know
Although the PR department at Isuzu Ute Australia doesn’t want to talk about it, the all-new 2020 Isuzu D-Max isn’t far away. Third-generation Isuzu D-Max ditches utilitarian focus to ramp up technology, comfort. I recently reviewed the 2019 Isuzu D-Max LS-T 4WD Dual Cab and I commented on the
Make no mistake. Every German company wants to conquer the world in every facet of their business. Pre-dieselgate, Volkswagen was convinced that they’d be the number one manufacturer of automobiles. They saw the need to tamper with the emissions on a range of their cars and this was no small
The nice people at Kia Motors Australia have been generous with the suite of vehicles they’ve provided me for review over the last 12 months and this vehicle is no exception. The 2019 Kia Cerato Hatch, the subject of my opinion piece is arguably just sensational. Kia entered the Australian
Hello and welcome to my new website thecarguy.com.au!
I know that there’s a lot of websites that offer car reviews, car road tests, opinions on various cars and the like. What makes this site different is that I’m not going to bore you with technical information about the various cars that I review.
I’ve been in the car business for over 39 years. I’ve read the motoring magazines cover to cover. I’ve read the online reviews until my eyes were square. Everywhere that I go, I find motoring journalists talking about car speeds – 0 – 100 km per hour, standing ¼ times, the inclination of this and that at 150klm per hour on a 12.5% gradient curve, in rainy weather – and other stuff that bores me no end.
thecarguy.com.au is taking a different path on the journey to helping you purchase a new car. I’ll do my best to advise you on what I consider to be the most important information when it comes to that major decision to purchase a car. Interior room, features of the car, fuel economy, safety, service prices, resale and lots more. I’ll tell you what I like about a particular car and as importantly, what I don’t like, to find at least to be less than I think a car should have. .
And I’ll ask for your opinion. Take some pics of what you’re driving and tell me and our audience what you particularly like or dislike about your car. Because besides prospective new car buyers, there’s a lot of people who’ll read your comments as used car buyers.
So, jump on board, strap yourself in and let’s start out on the journey with The Car Guy.
