Ford v Ferrari – Trailer and Interview

Honestly, I can’t wait to see the Ford v Ferrari movie to be released tomorrow November 14th.   A good friend and I will see Ford v Ferrari next week – we’re both car nuts and after seeing Senna I’m expecting great things. Entertainment reporter Kevin Mccarthy interviewed Matt Damon

Golf Anyone? Ian Poulter Ferrari Collection

I’ve loved golf for as long as I can remember. I started playing at Victoria Park Golf Club (soon to become our version of New York’s Central Park) in the early 70’s when a mate and I went for a hit and giggle. Shame then that I didn’t achieve the

Ford V Ferrari – Coming in November to a Cinema Near You

I went to see Ad Astra on the weekend, but of more importance was the trailer for Ford v Ferrari due for release in November this year. Ad Astra? yea, not bad, not good. I’ve taken the following article from Wikipedia. The last ‘motorsport’ movie I saw was Senna and

FERRARI SF90 STRADALE: THE FUTURE OF HYBRID SUPERCARS

Ok, so I’m a Ferrari Fanboy and thrilled to see early information about this Ferrari SF90 Stradale. (By the way, SF stands for Scuderia Ferrari and Scuderia is Italian for Team whilst Stradale translates to road). Not so long ago that I’ve forgotten, I owned (or the bank did) 2

Electric Ferrari? Enzo Would Roll Over

Ferrari 812 Superfast: It’s brilliant, but too damn powerful

Hi, Bob Aldons, The Car Guy, re-posting a story from Jeremey Clarkson. From The Australian last Saturday, Clarkson wails about the Ferrari 812 Superfast. I like the way Clarkson writes. He’s humorous, factual and a lucky bastard for getting the chance to drive the worlds most exclusive cars. Here’s what

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my new website thecarguy.com.au!

I know that there’s a lot of websites that offer car reviews, car road tests, opinions on various cars and the like. What makes this site different is that I’m not going to bore you with technical information about the various cars that I review.

I’ve been in the car business for over 39 years. I’ve read the motoring magazines cover to cover. I’ve read the online reviews until my eyes were square. Everywhere that I go, I find motoring journalists talking about car speeds – 0 – 100 km per hour, standing ¼ times, the inclination of this and that at 150klm per hour on a 12.5% gradient curve, in rainy weather – and other stuff that bores me no end.

thecarguy.com.au is taking a different path on the journey to helping you purchase a new car. I’ll do my best to advise you on what I consider to be the most important information when it comes to that major decision to purchase a car. Interior room, features of the car, fuel economy, safety, service prices, resale and lots more. I’ll tell you what I like about a particular car and as importantly, what I don’t like, to find at least to be less than I think a car should have. .

And I’ll ask for your opinion. Take some pics of what you’re driving and tell me and our audience what you particularly like or dislike about your car. Because besides prospective new car buyers, there’s a lot of people who’ll read your comments as used car buyers.

So, jump on board, strap yourself in and let’s start out on the journey with The Car Guy.
