Through my new car brokerage company, Car Business, I get to see and drive a vast number of brands and models before they’re handed over to their new owners. Recently, I had the opportunity to drive an LDV G10 Executive Wagon and here’s a quick snapshot
What is it? LDV G10 Executive is a 9-seat people mover with an extraordinarily wonderful use of the interior space. Obviously in the front row there are 2 vehy comfortable chairs for the driver and passenger. Second row and third row occupants get similar seats – 2 x ‘Captains Chairs’ while the 4th row can really only be used for car seats on the outer and a child in the middle position.
Competitors? Under $60,000 there are really 4 competitors. Kia Carnival, Honda Odyssey, Volkswagen Multivan, and Hyundai Imax. And then over $60,000, you’re staring at the box-like Toyota Granvia (Replaced the Toyota Tarago), the very competent Hyundai Palisade and Mercedes-Benz V-Class.
Exterior
What can you really do with a 9-seater vehicle? Not too much as far as design is concerned. Boxy is the standard and if you really want to carry a cricket team around, you’ll just have to put up with it
Interior
Plush – In my opionion, and looking at value for money, the LDV G10 Executive is one of the best. I love the Captain Chair concept for three rows and there’s room enough.
Storage With all seats in use, there’s sufficient storage for a few umbrellas and that’s it. With the 4th row stowed, you’ll probably fit enough luggage in soft bags for a weekend. Taking the tribe? Better get a trailer or on roof luggage pod.
In Summary

Engine/Transmission 2.0 Litre Turbo Charged Petrol Engine with 6-Speed ZF automatic transmission
Warranty/Service Disappointingly, LDV only offer a 3-year/100,000-kilometre warranty. Looking at the class leader Kia Carnival, they’re providing 7-years unlimited kilometres. Serious question to be asked with a Chinese made vehicle as to why only 3.
Insurance I always get a comprehensive insurance quote from RACQ online. I use my personal details to get a number, but you should use your own to get a comparison. Whenever I have a car insurance policy due, I always get quotes from a number of companies. (RACQ, Youi, Budget Direct, NRMA, Elders, Allianz, Suncorp). Just because an insurance company advertises on the radio and television extensively, doesn’t change the way you price compare.
When I check the price for the LDV Executive, RACQ Online quote $491.86 with a $750 Excess.
Safety According to ANCAP,
Load Area LDV doesn’t publish load area figures, but I’ll try my best to give you some sense of what’s usable. With all rows in place, the luggage area is nil. With the 4th row down, you’ll arguably have enough room for some weekend luggage for 6 people. Best to inspect yourself.

Which Dealer?
Whenever I’m looking for a new car dealer, I always search on Google.
In this case, I’d search for “LDV Dealers” and then the city (Brisbane) or even the suburb I live in. In South-East Queensland for LDV, here are the dealers I’d consider visiting. Google provides a star rating and I suggest that you look for dealers who score more than 4 stars in the Google rankings with at least 10 reviews and stay clear of dealers who don’t measure up to the Google standard – after all its real customers who are rating the dealers.
