Black Fire Edition

BMW Group Australia have announced the release of 50 special editions of the X5 M and X6 M SUV’s – Black Fire Editions. Available in dealerships from October, the striking vehicles are sure to be sold out within a short time. Special Edition vehicles typically are in big demand and these will be no different.

In some cases, I’m not yet privy to an actual road test on many brands and models. I currently review Suzuki, Mazda, Nissan, Kia, Land Rover, Great Wall, Haval, and Mitsubishi. Other manufacturers are yet to come to their senses as I’m reviewing cars as a potential customer would.

In any case, there’s a myriad of press releases submitted by manufacturers every week, and to help keep you up to date with what’s going on in the Car Business, I’ve introduced a new section for The Car Guy website. It’s titled ”In Their Own Words”.  I sincerely hope that this article gives you some extended information as a prospective new car buyer on cars that I haven’t had an opportunity to drive and review. Just be careful to understand that these releases are the manufacturers spin and not my opinion. If you’re interested in more information about a particular brand or model of new vehicle, please contact me directly, whichever state you’re living in on 0418 748 498. I’ll be sure to assist you in any way I can

“BMW Group Australia is proud to announce two limited-edition variants to our premium performance BMW M SUV range: The X5 M and X6 M Black Fire Editions.

“I am very excited to introduce these Black Fire limited editions to the Australian market,” said BMW Group Australia CEO, Marc Werner.

“The X5 and X6 M are equally capable on the race track, when commuting or when taking the family out on the weekend – I should know, because I drive them personally.

With these awesome Black Fire editions, the BMW X5 M and X6 M are more appealing than ever,” he said.

A total of 25 Black Fire Editions have been earmarked for Australia, with 15 X5 M and 10 X6 Ms being made available.

Sinister stance

The BMW X5 M and X6 M Black Fire Editions project a uniquely sinister exterior signature. Sapphire Black metallic paintwork sets a tone further enhanced by dark carbon fibre exterior mirror caps, a blacked-out iteration of the famous kidney grille and imposing 21-inch BMW M light alloy wheels, also in black.

Standard sun protection glazing on the rear windows have the double effect of adding privacy and further subtle menace to the X5 M and X6 M Black Fire appearance.

Bespoke interior creates unique ambience

Enter the brooding cabin, shut the doors with their automatic soft-close function, and you are greeted by Fine-grain Merino leather upholstery. Finished in an enticing combination of Black and Mugello Red the fully-electric BMW M multi-functional seats feature motorsportinspired integrated headrests. These seats are finely stitched in contrasting red, a hallmark that extends to the armrests, centre console, instrument panel, door trims and door pulls.

The interior headliner is finished in high-quality Alcantara in anthracite, sourced from the exclusive BMW Individual programme. This tactile trim also adorns the M Performance steering wheel, while piano black interior finishers are adorned with signature ‘X5 M Edition Black Fire’ or ‘X6 M Edition Black Fire’ signets for a further exclusive touch.

Condition Based Servicing

All maintenance requirements for the BMW X5 M and X6 M ranges are controlled by the Condition Based Servicing (CBS) system.

With CBS, sensors and advanced algorithms monitor and calculate the conditions in which a vehicle is used, including mileage, time elapsed since its last service, fuel consumption and how a vehicle is driven. Based on the information captured, maintenance requirements are determined, identifying whether an annual vehicle inspection or oil service is due.

Selected BMW service and maintenance costs can be covered by a single, one-off advance payment with BMW Service Inclusive (BSI), which is available in two packages: Basic or Plus.”

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my new website thecarguy.com.au!

I know that there’s a lot of websites that offer car reviews, car road tests, opinions on various cars and the like. What makes this site different is that I’m not going to bore you with technical information about the various cars that I review.

I’ve been in the car business for over 39 years. I’ve read the motoring magazines cover to cover. I’ve read the online reviews until my eyes were square. Everywhere that I go, I find motoring journalists talking about car speeds – 0 – 100 km per hour, standing ¼ times, the inclination of this and that at 150klm per hour on a 12.5% gradient curve, in rainy weather – and other stuff that bores me no end.

thecarguy.com.au is taking a different path on the journey to helping you purchase a new car. I’ll do my best to advise you on what I consider to be the most important information when it comes to that major decision to purchase a car. Interior room, features of the car, fuel economy, safety, service prices, resale and lots more. I’ll tell you what I like about a particular car and as importantly, what I don’t like, to find at least to be less than I think a car should have. .

And I’ll ask for your opinion. Take some pics of what you’re driving and tell me and our audience what you particularly like or dislike about your car. Because besides prospective new car buyers, there’s a lot of people who’ll read your comments as used car buyers.

So, jump on board, strap yourself in and let’s start out on the journey with The Car Guy.
