Volkswagen Tiguan Adventure

Hot on the heels of the Volkswagen Touareg Adventure, Volkswagen Australia has introduced the Tiguan Adventure series. Available in two engines, a 132TSI Petrol, and 110TDI Diesel, Volkswagen Tiguan Adventure is upgraded with sufficient tech and accessories to get it off road – and back again more importantly.

In some cases, I’m not yet privy to an actual road test on many brands and models. I currently review Suzuki, Mazda, Nissan, Kia, Land Rover, Great Wall, Haval, and Mitsubishi. Other manufacturers are yet to come to their senses as I’m reviewing cars as a potential customer would.

In any case, there’s a myriad of press releases submitted by manufacturers every week, and to help keep you up to date with what’s going on in the Car Business, I’ve introduced a new section for The Car Guy website. It’s entitled ”In Their Own Words”.  I sincerely hope that this article gives you some extended information as a prospective new car buyer on cars that I haven’t had an opportunity to drive and review. Just be careful to understand that these releases are the manufacturers spin and not my opinion. If you’re interested in more information about a particular brand or model of new vehicle, please contact me directly, whichever state you’re living in on 0418 748 498. I’ll be sure to assist you in any way I can.

Typically All Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles aren’t designed for the more serious off road work that 4WD’s are asked to do, but according to Volkswagen the Tiguan Adventure can do beach driving, and some outback driving too.

Don’t expect any AWD to get down and dirty like a Landcruiser, Patrol or Jeep 4WD, but if you’re interested in dipping your toes in the great outdoors, then perhaps Tiguan Adventure is the right starting point.

Volkswagen Tiguan Adventure

  • Off-road-ready features including 24-degree approach angle, under-body protection
  • ErgoActive 14-way adjustable driver’s seat for touring comfort
  • Volkswagen Genuine Accessories roof bars for extra carrying capacity

Sydney, 18th August 2017 – Volkswagen Australia has today introduced a new, rough and ready equipment line to its award-winning Tiguan line up. Adding unique, additional features to the Tiguan Comfortline Grade, the new Tiguan Adventure adds an impressive suite of unique features with the tourer who prefers the road less travelled in mind.

The Tiguan Adventure will be available in two models, based upon (and to be offered alongside) the popular 132TSI Comfortline and 110TDI Comfortline models.

The Adventure special model theme is clearly evident through the addition of ‘off-road’ inspired styling elements that also contribute to increasing the vehicles genuine off-road credentials. A unique ‘off-road’ design front bumper features an increased approach angle, comprehensive underbody protection has also been added, together with visual highlight of ‘off-road’ labelled aluminium front door sill inlays.

Touring comfort has been enhanced with the inclusion of an ErgoActive 14-way adjustable driver’s seat with electric lumbar adjustment and massage function, Art Velours microfleece upholstery, heated front comfort sport seats and LED headlights.

The next level of desirable equipment has also been considered for the Adventure package, with larger 18″ alloy wheels, Keyless Access, electric tailgate and power folding door mirrors amongst standard inclusions.

Additionally, the standard inclusion of Volkswagen Genuine Accessory roof bars provides customers additional practicality while touring.

With retail pricing of $43,990 and $45,490 for the 132TSI Adventure and 110TDI Adventure special models respectively, the special models carry just a $2,500 retail price premium above the series models.

The level of option availability is befitting the anticipated volume production and demand for this special model. In addition to the unique Atlantic Blue Metallic, the four most popular Tiguan colours are to be offered – Pure White, Tungsten Silver Metallic, Indium Grey Metallic and Deep Black Pearl Effect. Two further options will be made available – the Driver assistance package, and an individually selectable, panoramic electric glass sunroof.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my new website thecarguy.com.au!

I know that there’s a lot of websites that offer car reviews, car road tests, opinions on various cars and the like. What makes this site different is that I’m not going to bore you with technical information about the various cars that I review.

I’ve been in the car business for over 39 years. I’ve read the motoring magazines cover to cover. I’ve read the online reviews until my eyes were square. Everywhere that I go, I find motoring journalists talking about car speeds – 0 – 100 km per hour, standing ¼ times, the inclination of this and that at 150klm per hour on a 12.5% gradient curve, in rainy weather – and other stuff that bores me no end.

thecarguy.com.au is taking a different path on the journey to helping you purchase a new car. I’ll do my best to advise you on what I consider to be the most important information when it comes to that major decision to purchase a car. Interior room, features of the car, fuel economy, safety, service prices, resale and lots more. I’ll tell you what I like about a particular car and as importantly, what I don’t like, to find at least to be less than I think a car should have. .

And I’ll ask for your opinion. Take some pics of what you’re driving and tell me and our audience what you particularly like or dislike about your car. Because besides prospective new car buyers, there’s a lot of people who’ll read your comments as used car buyers.

So, jump on board, strap yourself in and let’s start out on the journey with The Car Guy.
