When this press release regarding the LDVeT60 hit my inbox this morning, I couldnt wait.
My first question was when and as I read the release I was then wondering how much it would be
- First to market electric ute leads the competition
- 88.5kWh battery and 330km range
- Helping fleets meet their emissions targets
Sydney, Australia – 16 November 2022: LDV is proud to launch Australia’s first electric ute, the LDV eT60. This seminal moment in Australia’s automotive history marks a turning point in the electrification of commercial vehicles – and proves that weekends don’t have to end just yet.
And so I’m now wondering whether the ‘first to market’ attitude is relevent, because the price of the LDVeT60 is
$92,990 plus on roads costs in your state.
LDV suggests in this release, that it’s main buyers will be government – Federal, State and Local – and larger environmentally conscious businesses.
So I’m not about to hold my breath waiting for private and small business enquiries to pour in. What I am thinking through is why this electric version of the LDV T60 which sells for circa $45k is SO expensive.
